As part of its continuing product development plan Pentax have announced a number of improvements to its R-300 range of Total Stations. The new Pentax R-300X series will offer improved performance and a higher specification whilst maintaining a very competitive price.
 
Improvements in comparison to the current models include: –
 
  • Increase in on-board memory to as much as 20,000 points
  • Initial measurement time to prism / reflector sheet reduced by 40% in Quick Mode setting
  • EDM accuracy is now ± ( 2+2 ppm ) on all models except R-326EX
    ± ( 3+2 ppm ) on R-326EX
  • A date clock has been incorporated in all non prism models in addition to 2" and 3" prism models.
  • Reflectorless measurement capability of 200m with a visible dot laser pointer ( R-322NX / R-323NX / R-325NX / R-315NX )
The Pentax R-300X series of Total Stations will comprise of 11 models giving a choice of 2" , 3" , 5" or 6" angular accuracy and a choice of 5 non prism models and 6 conventional distance measurement models. As with the current R-300 range all R-300X instruments will come with a choice of on-board software packages ensuring suitability whatever project you are working on.

The Pentax R-300X range will be available from late February 2005 and will replace the current R300 range.
