The No. 149A is a specially designed, compact slide rule equipped with a variety of different scales for convenient use by engineers and incorporates the following features.

1. Efficient multiplication and division
Since the slide rule is equipped with DF, CF and CIF scales, off scale does not occur.

2. Perfect exponential calculation
Eight LL scales are provided to permit Ax type calculations even when A is a decimal fraction and x is a negative value.

3. Right triangles and vectors can be easily solved
Since HEMMI's special "SI" and "TI" system, in which the S and T scales are graduated in the opposite direction, is employed for the trigonometric functions scales, right triangle, vector, and complex number calculations are extremely easy.
